I shot these photos yesterday evening while my youngest was at TaeKwonDo. The pier in the distance is the Avalon pier in Kill Devil Hills. As you can see it was a very nice end to a nice day. That evening we had some heavy rain with a stiff wind and lightning. There were no getting shots of lightning last night

Oh by the way the water was “cool” but there is no stopping the kids on this beach when it comes to water sports. That is a skim board the young man is holding. You slide it along the surfs edge and then jump on it and "skim" across the water. I don’t advise older well endowed folks try it; that little baby is the reason for a lot of broken wrists and ankles.

After running along Lake Michigan today in 55 degree, 20 mph weather, that water looks darned inviting. J and I are planning to celebrate our escape from Chitown at the end of July with a few days at the Island Inn in Manteo, so we can walk over to Full Moon Cafe, soak up some brews and rays and walk back without having to drive and risk meeting you at the ER. Can't wait!
